Historique :	La tradition orale voudrait que la statue, ainsi que le retable, viennent de l'ancienne abbaye cistercienne de Bonnecombe, distante d'une dizaine de kilomètres. Ressemblance très grande de cette statue avec deux statues de moines franciscains, provenant du couvent des Cordeliers de Rodez et conservés au musée Fenaille. Comme un groupe sculpté de l'église de Carcenac provient de façon certaine du couvent des Cordeliers de Rodez (Vierge de Pitié), nous serions tentés d'attribuer une semblable origine à cette statue de Saint-Louis d'Anjou.
