Précision_sur la representation :	Dans un intérieur d'architecture classique se tiennent la Vierge, au centre de la composition, les mains croisées sur la poitrine dans une attitude de prière, les douze apôtres, et trois femmes. Les attitudes des personnages reflètent l'étonnement. Ceux qui se trouvent au premier plan lèvent les yeux au ciel. Dans la partie supérieure de la toile, la colombe du Saint-Esprit est entourée de nuées. De là, partent des langues de feu, accompagnées de rayons lumineux, qui retombent sur les personnages.
